Labourer to Site Manager in FOUR YEARS..

Four years ago, a young man, who had not had much luck in life approached us for work as a labourer. He had been in trouble quite a bit and had a minor drug habit. As we got to know him, we quickly realised he was desperate to quit his old ways and move on. His partner was expecting their child and he wanted to escape the hand to mouth existence and be able to provide a stable environment for his soon to be new family. He spoke to us almost daily about how he could progress – he had no trade skills but knew a lot about the comings and goings of construction sites. We gave him a lot of work over a two-year period, he worked every day, he was reliable, and he became known to a lot of our clients. This led to him being taken on directly by one of them, he is quickly moved through their ranks, and I am delighted to have just found out he has now passed his SMSTS certificate and will be working as an assistant site manager.  I am extremely proud of him and if he reads this I am sure he will have a big smile on face.
